Open Season on Sundays

Hello Everyone,

After the first successful trial last Sunday we are proud to announce our first weekly recurring event. A tense 100 minutes where an entry in the hall of fame can earn you some sweet prizes. So from now on, every Sunday at 18:00 UTC/GMT, supported by the most shady society we couldn't find before they found us...

Awesome to see this event will return every week.

The outcome from this week

We're sorry for the daylight saving timezone mess causing some confusion. We found people hunting fanatically before we even announced the start of the event in game. Maybe we should have just said 20:00 Amsterdam or Paris time. There's always room for improvement so please feel free to reply with your suggestions.

UTC/GMT must be better? I was quite confused over CET.

Managed to grab 20 minutes of the event though

It was fun to see the panic of some contestants.
I couldn't participate at the unannounced time, but i sure had good laughs just before.

Yeah, the variable CEST (currently CET+2) is just plain madness.
18:00 UTC/GMT is 20:00 for us, so without any objections we'll call this a winner...

@Nahual: I certainly hope to write your name on the board tomorrow after missing the first 2 events.   

It's been a lot of fun and very useful for us in regards to experience in organizing events. We've got a good impression of what features we need to 'ease the burden' for ourselves to support more events from 0.6.0 onwards. We can still use your help for determining what people need to organize their own events. Please, don't be ashamed to let go of your brain farts...

A slight change of plan due to a birthday and Netherlands VS Mexico later today...

GABI Farouk Mota will be your host for tonights event. He will take care of the in-game announcements, keeping score and hand out the rewards afterwards. We thank GABI for his commitment and wish you all a good time and good luck!

The event was a success again, hosted by Gabi without the systems aid.
Must say the red system text is alluring and does give the messages more power but none the less very well organized and hosted.

Congratulations to Star and Meltrek, they took the first place in this weeks "Open Season on Sundays"
Made a screen from them and modified it some with PhotoScape.


2nd place was claimed by "Tytanick PL TytanickPL" and 3rd by the team "gk killing stuff"

Todays "Open Season on Sundays" 06-07-2014 is a fact again. These people are the winners.



Can say this 5th edition was a true HoF Mayhem with a awesome first place by Zahadum zahadum zahadum from 425.80 PID!
2nd place was claimed by Fearless gorilla gongo with 276.62.
3th place was occupied by a team called "3° Team what did we do" with a HoF from 240.95 PID!

Thanks to everyone that participated and hope to see even more people next week!

Team what did we do didn't respond during the award ceremony yesterday so I still have a full prototype x to give away. One would assume it was a team made by gK and therefor we'll give them another opportunity to come forward today...

If 3rd place is left unclaimed by the end of the day the prize will go to the runner up: Angel and Demon (194.09)

Hello Everyone, it's been very busy lately but I have finally updated the archive with the results from Open Season edition 10 and 11. The screenshot shows the winners from edition 10 though I can't tell who is who from the eerily similar blank stare...

Despite one unfortunate interruption during the event we managed to fix things with 10 minutes of extra time. Now I'm not saying that it has anything to do with this being the 13th edition of this event, but still makes one wonder...

The three luckiest looters this week were awarded as usual and captured on screen by GABI:

Another week brings us three lucky winners for the history books. This time we had a slight twist in the awarded prizes. Instead of just the regular items we've added a choice this time. Those finishing in 2nd and 3rd place got to choose an Adjusted Prototype X rifle with 50% and 25% durability respectively. It beats me, but somehow everyone likes the APX best...

And the icing on the cake, here are this weeks winners with a photo bombing noob in the middle

The available prizes have also been updated to reflect the recent twist for 2nd and 3rd place winners. (APX 50% and 25% respectively)

Another edition of "Open Season", to be precise the 18th edition.



A big congratulations to Mak leo Nid with a awesome HoF from 275,68 PID.
Followed by Denis Mingo Mingo with a loot worth 187,77 PID.
Last but not least was Zume The Dane Seldan with a kill that delivered her 168,10 PID of loot.

Thanks for all other participants for joining and hope to bring some exciting news in the coming week regarding the new update.

Thanks for updating this thread guys, and TeslaCoil for handling the reward ceremony last Sunday. The archives are up to date and ready for three new winners. Also, I found and fixed the bugged item on my avatar, so it should be alright for the 19^th edition of Open Season this evening.

One important change to notice about the event will be the exclusion of teams. In other words: Only individual entries in the Hall of Fame will be considered for the top-3 loots. This will make sure that everyone has a (reasonably) fair chance to win a prize. See you there and good luck!

Would not say there is a big lack of information about the update, but the waiting for new information, sneak previews and eventually the update could be made all some more sustainable with well planned and regular news updates that have it all in them...

We are preparing a interview with the developers that should shed some light on all our questions.
Feel free to add your questions and i am sure it will shed some light on the "why","what" and maybe even something about the "when"...

What would you like to know mingo? We're spread thin as-is and we're still providing more info than some other well-funded projects.

Despite real life demanding attention I dedicated some time to answer GABI's request for a short interview.
I'm sure he'll share it with us as soon as he's ready with it. Just like we do with new(s) updates.
